A note from our founder, Emily Martin

Personal styling, for everyone.

Years ago, I worked as a stylist. FYF is the tool I wish I'd had then — and the one I want everyone to have now.

Why I built FYF

A tool I wished I could give everyone.

Years ago, I worked as a stylist. The part of the job that mattered most was the slow part — figuring out what someone owned, what they actually wore, what fit their life, what would feel like them. Personal styling is real work, and when it's done well, it changes how people feel about getting dressed.

But personal styling has always been a service for the small number of people who can afford it. That stayed with me long after I stopped doing the work. Everyone deserves a closet that works for them. Everyone deserves to feel good in what they put on.

FYF is the answer I came back to. It's the tool I wish I'd had when I was styling — and the one I want everyone to have, whether they'd ever hire a stylist or not. It learns what you own, what you love, what fits. It builds a feed of pieces shaped to you, not to whatever brand is paying the most. It makes shopping easier, and it makes it personal.

That's the whole idea. Personalized shopping, everywhere. For everyone.

What I believe

A few things I hold to.

i.Personal first

The best recommendation is the one made for one person. I'm building FYF for individuals, not for the average user.

ii.Honest commerce

Affiliate partnerships fund the work, but they never bias the feed. The right piece for you comes before the highest commission.

iii.Real style

Every fit on The Edit is built by hand, by someone with a real eye for fashion. FYF should feel like having a friend who happens to know clothes.

iv.Respect for time

You shouldn't have to scroll through 200 wrong things to find the one. FYF is built for fewer, better recommendations.

The Edit

What you'll see on this site.

The Edit is the part of FYF I publish openly — fits I've put together by hand, with every piece shoppable. It's part magazine, part shopping guide, part proof of what the app does.

The fits there are not stock photos or AI compositions. Each one is built piece by piece from real inventory across partner retailers — things that exist, that you can buy today, styled the way I'd actually wear them.

It's small on purpose. I'd rather publish a few fits I'd genuinely put on than flood the page with looks that don't mean anything.

Thanks for being here.
